What I Think Frames A Face: Eyebrows

In my point of view, there are parts of a person's face that really define or perfect a look. They give structure, and when they are made up well, I think that even if you do not have much makeup, you can still look "prepared". (These are my opinions!)

Eyebrows:

(These are eyebrow shapes, pick the perfect one for yourself!)
I think eyebrows really frame a face. They draw attention to your eyes and when done properly, they can give yourself a certain "mood".

For me, I choose to have a serious/mischievous(lol) aura. For the diagram above, my brows are most like number 13, expect less vertical and more horizontal. My angle is not too strong and my arch is not too high. I am often mistaken to be much older than I actually am, so I'm very careful to not pluck too many eyebrow hairs out, because fuller brows keep a person looking youthful. I also keep my arch natural so that my eyebrows don't look too done, if that makes sense, haha.

Luckily, I don't have to fill in my brows because my hair is so dark. But if you've seen in one of my previous FOTD's, I went overboard with my eyebrows, so much so, that I looked like a cartoon villain! Not a look to sport... Currently, if I do wish to "do" my brows, I use a light hand and only fill in sparse areas. I make sure not to forget to blend out whatever I do to my brows, who wants patches? Not me...

I own the LORAC Take a Brow kit in the darkest shade (i think), and if I do use those brow powders, I'm very, very careful because the powders are so pigmented. I'm looking into purchasing the Anastasia Highlighting Brow Kit which comes with a baked brow powder trio, a baked highlighting trio, and clear brow gel sample. What do you think?

So, what do you think defines a face?
More parts coming! Thanks for reading, byebye. :B

Christmas Eve FOTD

It's CHRISTMAS!!! I'm in the living room sitting around with the family, so I didn't put on any makeup today. But here's my really simple look for Christmas Eve. I was out, doing some last minute shopping (yay for procrastination!).

Yes it looks like I have a mask but it's because my foundation had SPF!!

Here are some close ups on my eye! They're slightly blurry, sorry!

So what's one my face???

Eyes-
L'Oreal HIP Color Chrome Eyeliner in 910 Black Shock (tight-line and water line)
Some Japanese brand white/silver shimmery liner (inner 1/3 lower lashline)
stila purrfect cat eye talking palette (base color as brow highlight and as inner corner color, kitten lid color on inner 2/3rd of lid and inner corner, crease color on outer third of lid)
Maybelline The Colossal Volum' Express Mascara Waterproof Formula (top and bottom lashes)

Face-
Murad Oil-Control Mattifier SPF 15 (as primer)
Revlon Colorstay Foundation in Oil/Combination Formula (#200 Buff)
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Light
NARS Orgasm Blush

Lips-
EOS Summer Fruit Lip Balm
Revlon Color Burst Lipstick in Soft Nude
Maybelline Color Sensation Lipstick in Are You Red-dy (light dabs)
After blotting...
MAC Tinting Lip Conditioner in Plum Perfect

NOTE: I think that the Revlon Colorstay Foundation is a bit too light for me, so the reason for my face looking so much lighter may be because of that and that the foundation and my primer contained SPF. In real life (at least to me), my face and my neck matched, I did drag my foundation and powder down my neck...

So that was my very simple FOTD, it gives a really bright eye effect in real life. My friend who I went shopping with kept telling me that I looked really awake that day (because I have really dark circles and I hate concealing them cause they feel heavy when I do). Also, the mascara I used really woke me up right? It's such a great mascara that not only gave me volume, but gave me tons on length (that's what I look for in a mascara). It also held my curl amazingly on my straight Asian lashes. It's just so hard to remove!

Thank you for reading, hope you enjoyed! Byebye, and have a great Christmas and New Year. >u

Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask Review

Hello anyone reading this! This is my first review, so although I have items I'm sure everyone would much rather look at, I decided to start small. This is (as seen in the title) Queen Helene's Mint Julep Mask.

I'm sorry for the bad quality picture! I had this item in a previous post when I showed you this and candles (my relaxation thingy). Anyways, here's what I think of the mask...

The mask is a green mask, it's purpose is to help dry up acne pimples, rinse away blackheads & shrink enlarged pores. After cleansing your face, you applying this and allow it to dry for 15 min. The package says you can apply an extra bit of product to areas that need more attention i.e. areas with larger pores, more breakouts... After 15 min, you rinse off the product with warm water and your face should feel refreshed, clean, and smooth.

I think the product is really great for refreshing to skin, however after use, I don't feel that my skin is any smoother. My pores have not shrunk, and my blackheads (although I don't have many) have not gone away. I'm actually currently using the mask while I type this post and I feel a slight tightening, which I like. My pores on my nose have recently enlarged (!), so hopefully I'll see a difference when I wash off the mask. After you wash off the mask, make sure you either cleanse your face once again or tone your face, because the mask really does cling to your face so less noticeable product will be left on your face.

I love the minty smell of the product, and it really is affordable (Currently $2.99 on Walgreens! 8.0 oz). Huge bang for your buck since you get about 10+ uses out of this tube. This mask is good for oily skin types because it will slightly dry your skin out.  Dry skin people can still use this, but unlike oily skinned people who can use this mask 2-3 times a week, I recommend only 1 use per week. I have combination skin so when my skin is drier, I don't use this mask (I use something else). When my skin gets oily though, I use this and it quickly soaks up the oily and for a couple days my skin produces less oil.

So, overall, I recommend this to refresh skin, and adjust oily skinned people. Now let me go wash off the mask and go see the change in my pores!

My pores are the same, my blackheads are still kinda there, I just starting noticing how bad I'm breakout!!!! I'm gunna cry...

Thanks for reading! Byebye. C: Haha...

AGH. I missed out!

Have you missed out on things that you wanted really bad, but could not justify the price? Or did not know about it until it was unavailable? Here are some things I've missed out on, and I regret so much...

This is the Madden Girl Callie Wedge in Brown, I found this a couple nights ago only to find that my size was no longer available... I was going to go for the brown or black color, but both options are unavailable...WHY CAN'T MY FEET BE SIZE 7 and not size 8?? I've looked everywhere online for this, but no luck so far..

This is the Coach Cassy Wedge. I blogged about this a couple posts back. I found this on the Macy's website for about 133 dollars, and I just couldn't do it. By the time, I decided that I would buy it, it was unavailable in my size..(once again) I checked the Coach site, and was happy to see it for only 89 dollars, but they did not have my size either! The only place I can find this right now is Dillard's online, but the price is 178 dollars there. Not happening!

Currently, I'm looking into booties with wedge bottoms. If you find any please let me know!

Right now, I'm considering....
This is the Steven Madden Women's Warrick Clog. It's very similar to the Madden Girl Callie  Wedge which is why I'm considering this shoe. But it's double the price of Callie! I also don't like the brown as much...

Oh and I wanted to show you guys a chain that sells designer brands for a cheaper price... I actually have not purchased from. They don't sell things online, but hey..if you have a store near you, check it out: http://www.loehmanns.com/index.aspx

My Christmas Wishlist....So far, haha!

My parents begin asking me about what I want for Christmas very early because they want to find something, that's not going to be wasted. I think they do that because I tend to buy things and just leave it to the side.
Note: I buy a lot of clothes and save them because they're too beautiful, and then I fall out of love with them. I'm trying to fix this bad habit and I've been forcing myself to wear my new clothes. Plus my addiction for the past few months has been makeup and not clothes, and I do use my makeup when I buy it. Kinda...
Ok, back to the point, here are the things I've been looking at to be my presents:

For the first, I have three options on my mind, I just want one of them, because I want a shoe in that style...

1.
Coach Cassy Wedge in Clay (I'm going to go to Macy's to actually see it because I don't want to see the color turn out bad if I have it mailed... Be careful with that!)

Aldo's TAURET in Beige

Aldo's GENNARELLI in Beige

Which one would you choose? The Coach Cassy Wedge is my first choice from the internet images.

2. Sigma Brushes (I don't really want to spend the money on MAC brushes because when you think about it...the price of two mac brushes can get you a whole face and eye brush kit from Sigma!)
There are quite a few brushes that I want... I do want the Complete Brush Kit.

3. Face highlighters...
I'm really into the whole glow thing. I already have Benefit's Moonbeam, which I loveeee.
I've been looking into the NARS Orgasm Illuminator..

Any other suggested highlighters?

So far, these items are what I've been looking at the most for Christmas. Of course, I have many more things that I want, but these stuck out the most for this season.

What are the things you want for Christmas? Thanks for reading!
