Passion for Peach: MAC Pleasureseeker Glaze Lipstick Swatches and Review

     I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye. Anywho, this series will provide swatches and reviews (or quick reviews) on peach colored products I adore. (I was looking back on the Passion for Peach posts I did before and realized that none of them are reeeaaalllyyy "peach"... I think we can all assume now that I like to link peaches, corals, and oranges together. Well, I'll try from now on to keep it more peach based.)

     MAC recently launched a new mineralized collection for summer 2012. I'm getting bored of MAC like most people who have begun to settle into the makeup world. It's just too much stuff to keep up with and too much money spent on too many most likely will not be used items. Well, I saw the items being promoted and at first I wanted more than just one thing, but I looked at the items in person at a counter and was not amused. I only really wanted two of the lipsticks, Cut a Caper and Pleasureseeker. Pleasureseeker, the lipstick I am swatching and reviewing in this post is the first Glaze formula MAC lipstick I've ever gotten! Here are some pictures and such! The shots are a bit warm today, sorry about that.

MAC Pleasureseeker Glaze Lipstick is a medium-light pinked peach with a soft silver sheen. If compared to the permanent, popular MAC Shy Girl Lipstick, I would definitely say that Pleasureseeker is more pink and more natural because it lacks the opacity of Shy Girl's Creamsheen formula; the shimmer that the two contain is also different.--> Currently, because I'm so much more attracted to sheer, slightly glossy, natural lipsticks, I can see myself choosing Pleasureseeker over Shy Girl (!!!).The lipstick is sheer upon a first coat but within a couple of strokes it can reach a semi-opaque finish. The product is smooth, but not a wet type of creamy, if you know what I mean; it's just very comfortable and my hair doesn't stick to my lips +++. The silver sheen makes applying a gloss over top a bit of an overkill for me (seeing that I don't like extremely glossy lips). The overall effect of Pleasureseeker is very pretty and natural, I could see it working with nude and smokey eye looks.

Dior Summer 2012 Lip Swatches and Review

     Gahhhhh! I really wanted to put this post in my Passion for Peaches category, but honestly, none of these products are really peachy. On me at least, well, I'll still tag it in that category.
     I saw this collection, and I didn't really want anything but the lip products. The main "driver" was the Addict Lip Balm in 003 Crystal Coral, because I'm a huge fan of the original Addict Lip Balm which has color adjust technology or something like that. When I saw a new color, I needed to have it, so I got it. Haha. So here's the whole lot of things/swatches/review. Note the full face swatches as a better representation of the colors.

Bare lips

 

     Well, I'm pretty biased for this lip balm. The original is my official favorite lip balm of all time, trumping the Korres Lip Butters, the Rose Bud & Co. Lip Balms, and the fresh Sugar Lip balms. Essentially, 003 Crystal Coral has the same formula as the original; it has a thicker consistency that really sinks in the the lips. I have quite dry lips, and I can guarantee that this lip balm keeps them moisturized for a good amount of time.  Because it is thicker, it stays on longer and without eating or drinking I can peak with a 2-3 hour wear time (for real). Compared to the original, which gives a healthy rosey color to the lips, 003 Crystal Coral gives a reddish coral tint. This swatches quite orange with a little bit of golden shimmer (the shimmer does not seem apparent on the lips). Maybe when my lifes are paler that usual, it'll really turn out to be a orange! I like both the original and 003 equally...for now. I'm wondering if I should get a back up of this, it's all I've been wearing since I got it.

      354 Palace from the regular Addict line is a sheer warm baby coral pink; there's a hint of shimmer that's quite undetectable on the lips. When swatched on the hand, it looks warmer than when it's applied on the lips. I think the color's quite flattering for every day wear, because it's not what I would call a nude, but like a colored nude. Natural enough to wear with both a nude eye or a darker eye. I do have to say however that the color applied a bit unevenly on the lips. The texture is smooth and semi-glossy, I get about 2-3 hours of wear with a lighter shade of Lip Addict Lipsticks.

     544 Jet Set, also from the Lip Addict line, is a jelly red-orange coral with (bare there on the lips) micro white shimmers. The color is very summertime, and follows this years trends without overdoing it. It's a good lipstick for the shyer souls who stick to pinks and natural lip colors. I wouldn't describe this as sheer, but a jelly finish because you get good payoff with a translucent look. It's got a good amount of shine and because it's a bit brighter, I get about 3-4 hours of wear. Very comfortable and not drying.

     Note that the regular Lip Addict Lipsticks consist of sheerer glossy lipsticks that are reminiscent of lip balms with more pigment. I think 354 and 544 fit really well into that description.

     003 Crystal Coral is the most orange of the three (most natural), 345 Palace is the most pink (palest), and 544 Jet Set  is the most coral (brightest). So take your pick.    
     Overall I'm satisfied with this collection. It's pretty obvious I favor the 003 Crystal Coral Lip Addict Lip Balm, just because it's the type of tinted translucency I love in a lip color. I've pretty much convinced myself to get a back up... I think Dior really addressed a good range of colors with these lip products and I'm sure most people can find a color that they like.

Passion for Peach: NARS Sex Appeal Powder Blush Swatches and Review

     It's been one week everyone! Long time no see, I spent today writing some essays and reading some books, just how I live my life now. But surprisingly, in the midst of my busy school life, I've committed myself to using my makeup, and I've done a full face of makeup everyday! (It's a full face, but not heavy.) So today, I'm going to write a blog pot as my break time. (: NARS Sex Appeal, anyone?

      NARS Sex Appeal is described as a light soft matte peach. Swatched, I definitely think the color description fits, but on my light medium skin tone, the color shows much more peachy and dark than in the pan. Although this is the case, I definitely do not recommend this blush for people darker than me because Sex Appeal may turn out ashy.
     My NARS blushes have no disappointed my at all (only thing is, Orgasm isn't like wtfthisisamazing to me). And Sex Appeal fulfills all the criteria I want to see in a good blush, especially when it is so expensive. The texture of this blush is smooth but not powdery, so I don't see excessive fallout from the pan.
     I swear that this blush like... color adjusts. From the finger swatches, you can see one swatch is lighter and one is darker, and I swear it's because the blush reacts with the oils of your skin or something. This results in the blush looking darker on my skin than in the pan. Last thing... this blush lasts well on my skin.

Passion for Peach (Kinda Pink...): Illasmaqua Obey Lipstick Swatches and Quick Review

     No matter how hard I tried to get this lipstick to show true in my pictures, I just couldn't. So you're all going to think that this a true milky pale pink, BUT THERE ARE OTHER HINTS IN IT.

YES I HAVE ANOTHER PIMPLE. ;_;

     Illamasqua Obey is a milky pale peachy pink with a hint of coral (IN REAL LIFE). This lipstick is marketed as a matte finish lipstick, and yes, this is matte as matte if you apply it to totally bare lips. However, being matte, the lipstick is pretty drying and for that reason I really can wear this lipstick without lip balm. That's the reason why there is a sheen in the swatch. Although on the very inner area of my lips it seems like the lipstick sinks into fine lines, I really don't think that's the case if your lips are exfoliated and moisturized. The upside to this matte lipstick is the amazing pigmentation, one swipe and I have opaque lips. The lipstick does not seem to have a particular smell. The packaging is very sleek, but I must say, many people say that the base is not strong as the lipstick often breaks off. I haven't experienced breaking off, but the lipstick does move and the side of the bullet has been dented by the tube, very unfortunate. Without lip balm, I assume this lipstick will last longer, but with lip balm, I get about 4-5 hours of wear.

     So I spent some time today running around the house trying to find better lighting than the lighting I have in my room. I just couldn't get my camera to be happy with my room's lighting today, and I do have to admit that the lighting is pretty bad in my room. But I did find a place in my house with good lighting, well at least it's the most true to color I've seen my photos being. However, that's not saying that all my swatches have been "wrong", it's just these photos are the most close to real life. Yeuhhhh...So today's post is on MAC Ravishing Cremesheen Lipstick. :D

     MAc Ravishing is a cream finish orangey peach that shows up more vibrant in real life, but it really close to a true peach. True to it's Cremesheen name, Ravishing applies smoothly and has nice pigmentation. It's not drying and it doesn't accentuate my line lines of any dryness, but after wearing off, the product may get stuck to dry areas, and that would show up. I like to blend this lipstick a bit on the edges of the lips just because it looks better that way; I just use my fingers. I get about 4 hours or wear with this lipstick.

     I think Ravishing looks really similar to Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Cabo Coral (http://valeriestlbm.blogspot.com/2011/07/passion-for-peach-bobbi-brown-cabo_08.html). Ravishing is just a little more peach and pigmented.

     I definitely recommend this for someone looking into a good peach lipstick!

Passion for Peach: Bobbi Brown Cabo Coral Pot Rouge in Cabo Coral Swatches and Review

     I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye. Anywho, this series will provide swatches and reviews (or quick reviews) on peach colored products I adore.

     Being the summertime, I went on a mini search for a cream/stain blush. To my luck, the product I chose also can be used on the lips. Let me just say, I'm pretty dang happy. I'm showing you all, Boobi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Cabo Coral. What a mouthful.

     Yay, pimples!

     Isn't Bobbi Brown Cabo Coral pretty? The swatches turned out more pink than in real life. Cabo Coral is a gorgeous orangey peach, as far as I can tell, there isn't much coral to it. I personally love this color, it looks really good on the lips. There is no shimmer, but because it is a cream product, applied on the cheeks, it leaves a nice sheen. Of course, once powdered, the sheen goes away.

    Cabo Coral is very nicely pigmented so don't use too much, and just build up if you need more. The cream is not crazy soft so that you use too much, but it's also not dry. When applying to the cheeks, blend quickly, because once this dries, it probably won't move. I do recommend using a lip balm before applying this to the lips; this will also allow for easier application. I prefer to use my fingers to blend this into my skin as the products really sinks in this way, and it doesn't look cakey.

     The last power of this pot rouge is amazing, it lasts all day on my cheeks and about 5-6 hours on my lips. I think it's mostly because the product stains and does not just sit on top of the skin. The arm swatch above would not come off until the next day!

     Although the packaging is sleek and very attractive, I don't love it because little dust particles and stuffzz get into the product. WHICH PISSES ME OFF.

    Anyways, I definitely recommend this pot rouge. I don't know how the other colors look so I can't say anything about those. Hope this was helpful.

Passion for Peach + Don't Bite Your Nails: ORLY First Kiss Swatch and Quick Review

     I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye. Anywho, this series will provide 
swatches and reviews (or quick reviews) on peach colored products I adore.


     As my search for the perfect peach everything continues, I had to find a nail polish to fit the categories. Unfortunately, the peach polishes that I have found are all very sheer even if the colors are exactly what I'm looking for. Although ORLY's First Kiss is not exception, I'm placing it in my Passion for Peach category (only for the peach products I like), because it dries faster than Zoya Lulu (not in Passion for peach).

     My hands are so dry! Isn't it pretty?


     ORLY First Kiss is a baby milky pinked peach with a jelly finish. For this swatch I used 2 very think coats. You can still see through to my nails, but the nail polish dries fast enough that I think I could suffer through to a third coat. Although First Kiss is a pale polish, I don't find that it streaks as much because it has the jelly consistency. There was a bit Essie Matte About You Finisher for a more interesting texture. I would recommend this polish for a French Manicure, probably not how I did things. (:

Passion for Peach: Lancome Color Fever Lipgloss in Peach Paradise Swatches and Review

     Of course one of the things I just had to get from Lancome this summer is the Color Fever Gloss in Peach Paradise for the Lancome Summer 2011 collection. I can't say, it's exactly what I hoped for, but I'm not upset either.

     YES, that is a huge size pimple next to my mouth. ): Worst place to have a pimple ;_;

     Lancome Peach Paradise Color Fever Lipgloss is a peachy pink with a little bit of glitter hiding inside of the gloss. On my lips it transfers more like a baby pink, also please look at my full face photo for a better look at the color; the lip swatch does not do the gloss justice. Lancome products come with a pleasant floral/rose scent and this holds true for the lipgloss. The gloss is creamy and smooth although I find it a bit heavy; even so, the gloss is not sticky. It is a bit sheer, and to get that perfect peach lip, I would have to layer this gloss over a peach lipstick. I get about 3-4 hours of wear with this, and when it wears off, the glitter is left behind (not a good thing). I think this is nice, but there are definitely prettier and better peach glosses out there.

     Lastly, since I've come so close to my blogger photo storage limit, are you guys okay with some videos? I'm still contemplating how I should deal with this issue.

Passion for Peach: Wet n' Wild Penny Single Eyeshadow Swatches and Review + tinyupdate

     I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye. Anywho, this series will provide swatches and reviews (or quick reviews) on peach colored products I adore.


     Although peaches, pinks, and reds are a bit hard to pull off on the eyes, I couldn't do this series without a peach eye product. I find that with peach, pink and red eyeshadow you just need to know how much to use. In my eyes, more is better, because it becomes more evident that you are purposefully using a peach eyeshadow. So anywho, the Wet n' Wild Single Eyeshadow in Penny is readily available in your near by drugstore and I got mine for $1, but I think they go for about $2 usually.

     Wet n' Wild's Penny Eyeshadow is a golden red peach. It's a metallic shadow which is why in different angles and lighting you will see more gold, red, or peach. For this reason, if you only wear this shadow on your eyes, it will look like you have multiple shadows. The eyeshadow has a wonderful texture and pigmentation. It's the type that does not get so soft that you waste product and get fallout, and at the same time you have very nice pigmentation. I like to wear this shadow all over the lid, a little past my crease, and with a matte brown shadow in the outer corner and blended into the crease. I feel that I can't get a good 6-7 hours of wear before the color fades a bit, but that doesn't totally matter to me. Also, this kind of looks like MAC Rubenesque in powder form except much more red/peach, I'll do a comparison post later on with Rubenesque and this other cream shadow from a Revlon quad.


     OMG, guys! I reached the Picasa Web Album storage limit? I have the option of either purchasing 20GB of memory for $5 per year, but I wanted to know... if I forget to pay for the next year, will it delete all the photos I posted during the year? Are there any suggestions you guys have like a different blog format? Have you guys paid for more memory and what is your experience? I'm happy and kinda sad at the same time, since I have to pay now but this goes to show how in depth I try to my my blog and photos. I have I think two more posts can go up before I must pay. Passion for Peach: MAC Gotta Dash! Supreme Sheen Lipstick Swatch and Review

     I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye. Anywho, this series will provide swatches and reviews (or quick reviews) on peach colored products I adore.


     This Summer season, many makeup brands, have released new lines of sheer lipsticks. Although, sheer lipsticks tend to be moisturizing, I don't find that the color payoff of these lipsticks are up to par with what I want. After reading some posts on the MAC Supreme Sheen Lipsticks, I was excited to pick up one because supposedly they are not as sheer as other sheer lipsticks. I'm very glad that I did so, and of course, I went with a peach color.

     MAC Gotta Dash! Supreme Sheen Lipstick is a slightly milky warm peachy pink with a hint of coral (I find that a lot of peaches come hand in hand with pinks). This is a gorgeous lipstick that glides on well, feels moisturizing, and light, but still has good color payoff. Surprisingly, I find this more opaque than some of MAC's Lustre lipsticks. The lipstick, as the name suggests, gives a sheen on your lips. I like this because I don't love to apply gloss on top of my lipsticks, so I can still get a slightly glossy effect without worrying about my hair sticking to my lips. The lipstick glides on smoothly and the color applies evenly. To get a more natural affect, I dab the very sides of my lips to blend away harsh lines. Because this is a sheerer lipstick, the last time is around 3-4 hours without eating. I don't mind too much though, and I'm definitely going to pick up one or two more of these lipsticks.

Passion for Peach: LORAC Exposed Baked Matte Satin Blush Swatches and Review

     I've decided to start a series on my blog, and confess my huge love affair with peach makeup. I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye.      Let's get on with today's product, the LORAC Baked Matte Satin Blush in Exposed. This blush was one of my first blushes in my entire collection, back when I had a mini obsession with baked products (I find the shape and look of baked products so fun!).

     LORAC Exposed Baked Matte Satin Blush is a shimmery peached-pink, that shows up more peach on my cheeks than the swatch. Although it is shimmery, it does not transfer so much on the cheek and instead gives my skin a healthy glowly sheen. Seriously, this is so natural. When I use this blush, I don't really need a highlighter. For my skin, I don't find that the shimmer accentuates my pores or contributes to my combination skin that leans oily in the summer time. This blush is not hard or soft, rather directly in between; because of this, the blush is hard to over do. At least you would have to try really hard. This type of product is similar to the MAC Mineralized products, but LORAC product is less soft, so fall out is less likely.

     Last thing, I really appreciate the packaging because it is very study and clean. I'm a sucker for cute, sleek, and elegant packaging, but the number one priority is that it can hold up and last.

Gorgeous on the cheeks! If you like a good peachy cheek, try this blush out. (:

Passion for Peach: YSL rouge Volupte Lipstick Swatch and Review ft. 13 Peach Passion and 30 Faubourg Peach

     Added to the Passion for Peach Category? I think yes!


     As promised, this post is a swatch and review on my Yves Saint Laurent rouge Volupte Lipsticks in 13 Peach Passion and 30 Faubourg Peach. I purchased these as I was looking for the perfect milky peach. Originally, when I tried on Peach Passion in Sephora I was like OMFG, found it. Of course, Sephora lighting isn't always right, so when I returned home and tried it in natural lighting I was like something's wrong. However, I really liked the texture of the lipstick, so I didn't want to return it. Instead I decided to throw out a huge sum of money for a second one. I picked up Faubourg Peach, and boy, I'm really satisfied with both of these lipsticks. Please understand that the lip swatches are very light because I wear them like this. If I had applied a bit more, I would have full coverage lipstick. I just like it more sheer.

13 Peach Passion

     As you can see in the swatches, they look very natural because I only patted the lipsticks on. If I had swiped, the color of my lips would be totally replaced with the color of the lipstick.
     Peach Passion is a slightly bright milky coral pink with just a touch of peach. the name is a bit misleading as it implies that the lipstick will be more peach, however, it didn't work out for me that way. Applied sheerly, you will get a nice coral pink, applied opaque and you will get a true coral pink. Faubourg Peach is a true milky peach. Applied lightly, my lips will make the lipstick a bit more pink, applied opaquely and my lips will be totally peach.
     These lipsticks have no shimmer, however, because of the creamy texture, they leave a pretty sheen. Like I said, these are amazingly creamy and smooth, applying them is like apply butter on your lips, and that's why these lipsticks are so renowned. You can definitely shose the intensity of these lipsticks: pat for sheer application, and swipe for more color. These lipsticks feel very moisturizing on my lips, and they actually seem to mask the lines in my lips rather than accentuate. One downfall to the amazing creaminess, is the wear time. If I don't eat then I can get 3-4 hours if I'm careful. With eating, these lipsticks are basically gone.
     The packaging of these lipsticks is so dang amazing. I feel so rich holding and applying the lipstick. It's a rosy gold with the YSL emblem on the side and you can see the lipstick color through the packaging. There's also a mirror on the cap of the lipstick. One problem I have though is, like most luxury lipsticks, the name of the color is not on the lipstick, only the number is written.
     Overall, I really recommend these lipsticks, if you have the money. If you don't have the money, opt for MAC Cremesheens, although you will see a huge difference if you were  to try the Rouge Volupte's. These are seriously some of the best lipsticks I've ever tried.

Passion for Peach: MAC Ever Hip Cremesheen Lipstick Swatch and Quick Review

      Added to the Passion for Peach category? I think, yes!


     I missed out a while back during whatever collection MAC had out with Ever Hip Lipstick. So this time with the Fashion Flower collection, I just couldn't do that. Originally I was going to get the lipstick online, but man that thing sold out in no time. I freaked and ran out to my nearest MAC counter and luckily they were still in stock. Here are pictures and swatches:

     Ever Hip is a pretty peachy coral pink. It has a slightly glossy finish and the lipstick is creamy and easy to apply. It does not dry out my lips, and I get about 3-4 hours of wear. Cremesheen lipsticks supposedly melt easily, so I keep my lipstick out of the sun. Here's what the lipstick looks like with my whole face so you can get a better idea. (:
