Fairy Drops Scandalous Queen Mascara Review!

Recently, I purchased the Fair Drops Scandalous Queen Mascara from Sephora and made a haul post. Fannie from http://fannied.blogspot.com/ commented for a review and I am glad to do this. I've tried this out for a week and a half and I think I can review it throughly now. Information of wear you can buy this product and how much it is will be at the very end of this post!

So to start off, what do I look for in a mascara? I have short to medium straight lashes, so what I look for in a mascara is length and the ability to hold a curl well. I also like mascara on my bottom lashes so that is a factor I consider. I've recently been looking for a mascara that is water resistant so that it'll hold a curl well but won't pull out my lashes when I try to remove the mascara. The Fairy Drops mascara is water resistant and that is the reason for me purchasing it. It claims to also curl the lashes which was another condition that I was looking for. It is a fiber mascara!

I think the mascara does a nice job of giving non-clumpy length and even a bit of volume. It works fine on my lower lashes (not amazing, but not bad...pretty good) It also washes off easily with warm water but it does not smudge throughout the day from sweat and heat. I do have some problems with this mascara though because I am so insistent on a mascara that will hold curl.

When I apply this mascara, I begin by properly curling my lashes. This means I curl at the root of my lashes, and I continue curling until I reach the tips on my lashes. This way my lashes do not look crimped. I then apply one coat of the mascara. In a matter on minutes, my curl is gone and my lashes are back to being straight and point downwards. At first I was very disappointed with what had happened, but after the mascara had dried, I re-curled my lashes with the same steps as above, and found that the second curl lasted all day! So for my lashes at least there is a method that I must apply this mascara. I curl, apply, and curl once again. This gives me the desired effect and I am a happy camper.

Here are pictures of me wearing the mascara, I'm sorry that I did not give a before picture:

Overall, I am pretty happy with this mascara. I recommend it to people who don't mind spending a little time on this mascara. It's a good mascara for weak lashes (removal issues) and for a everyday clean look that can be dramatized during the night time. Out of 10, I give this mascara an 8, because I like everything except for the fact that I have to curl my lashes twice. Plus the packaging is so cute!

If you would like to purchase this mascara, it is a Sephora exclusive. You can buy it in Sephora stores and sephora.com. It sells for 24 dollars, not including tax.

If you have any more questions, please leave a comment, I will be glad to reply!

I have not posted in a very long while. I mean I try to post a couple, 1-3, posts during the weekends and I obviously missed last weekends posts because I came down with the stomach flu. I'm also entering the last stretch of my second trimester of sophomore year (ONEMOREWEEK), so the homework and classwork is piling up. Right now, I should be studying the capitals and countries in Europe and the countries of East Asia and some cities in China, but I wanted to get some posts up so that's what I'll do!

Devil of Lust: Velvet, Wedges, Hi-Tops

Makeup is not my only guilty pleasure. I am a huge fan of clothing, even before I even began buying makeup, I was into clothing. Of course, as I because attracted to makeup, my clothing addiction died down a bit. But now, it's flaring. Not just to clothing, but as shoes. Recently, I've been wanting...

American Apparel Velvet Long Sleeve Mini Dress in Burgundy and Black

Steve Madden Black Leather Warrick

VPfashion Lace-up Shoeboots

Dolce Vita Hayword

Jeffery Campbell 99 Tie

Nike Air Prestige III

adidas Honey Stripes

KILLING ME. And watch...I'm going to watch most of these sell out, or I'm never going to buy them because I don't want to spend the money. Boohoo. Life is hard.

Thanks for looking at this insanely annoying post. Haha. Byebye. >:3

Don't Bite Your Nails: Zoya Felicity + Swatch

Like I said last week, I will post a nail polish of the week every week. Durr.. Lol. Of course this will depend on how much homework I have that weekend, but here is my nail of the week with Zoya Felicity!

I think this color is so pretty, it's a pinky peach with golden shimmers. But it's a bit too sheer. This is only two coats, and in real life you can still see a bit of my nail. I think 3 coats would have been opaque. Also, if you have medium to large size nails like me, do not wipe the brush on the side of the opening when you apply this polish. Or else, you won't have enough polish and you'll end up with streaks. I think the sheerness is a common thread through Zoya's shimmery/metallic colors. Anywho, I'm loving this. I put it on just for Valentines days. Lolz. Woohoo. Guys will not be looking at my nails anyways. Haha. Okay.

Zoya Haul and Don't Bite Your Nails: Zoya Valerie + Swatch

A couple weeks ago, Zoya, nail polish manufacturer, had a really weird but cool deal thing because they reached 20,000 likes on facebook. Yay to facebook because Zoya had a deal where you could get three of their nail polishes and all you had to pay was shipping. I took advantage of this and made two separate orders and in total only pain like 12-14 $$$. It's an amazing price because normally Zoya nail polish is 7$ for one nail polish. I've never tried Zoya polishes, so this was the perfect time to do so.

From left to right: Shivon, Penelope, Casey, Asia, Felicity, and Valerie (I bought Valerie cause of the name. ;D).

Now here's my nail polish application:

I used...

 L'Occitaine Shea Butter Hand Cream

OPI Start to Finish Top Coat

Zoya Nail Laquer in Valerie

Start with clean bare nails, I have just polished them with a nail buffer.

Apply your hand cream to avoid the drying of your hands.

Apply your base coat to prevent your nail color from staining your nails.

Apply 2 coats of your nail color, then finish off with your top coat.

Although I still can not give a formal review of Zoya nail polishes, I can say that the nail polish in Valerie has a great texture that allowed for very easy application. Valerie is a beautiful dark plumy purple with hot pink shimmer/glitters. In the bottle it seems to have some orange shimmers/glitters, but so far, I do not see that being the case on the nails.

I often change my nail color every week, so if I have the time,I will put up picture of the next Zoya polishes I will try. If I am satisfied with Zoya polishes, I will probably continue purchasing. I am also in search for a nail treatment, and I am looking into Essie's Matte Top Coat for a matte finish to my nails!

Drugstore Haul and Swatches. (:

After getting my cavities filled, I went to Walgreens and picked up some stuff. I had a fun time today because my mouth was still numb from the shot given to me at the dentist. Now my mouth kind of hurts. ): Here is what I got:

I got cotton rounds, Aussie 3 min. Miracle Deep Conditioner, Stride Mystery Gum, hair clips, 2 Walgreen Brand Chap-Aid (Love it!), and some wet-n-wild stuff.

Next is swatches of the wet-n-wild stuff.
I had the hardest time taking off the dang Walgreens sticker, so excuse the messiness of the palettes.

I can't wait to use these eyeshadows! Very pretty. Very. (:

L'Oreal Wear Infinite Forest Lights EOTD+Review

Woowoo. I'm back with a FOTD. As I had said before, the L'Oreal Wear Infinite Forest Lights Eyeshadow quad is part of my modified project 10 pan. Originally, I had it for a month and had not touched it at all until about a week or so ago. Here are some pictures:

Looks a bit different than real life, it's more green.

Here are some pictures and swatches of the quad:

From top down: 2, 1, 4, 3 (The numbers on the eyeshadow.

In my EOTD, I am wearing number 2 on the inner third of my top lid and lower lash line, number 1 on the rest of my lid, and number 4 on the outer third of my top lid and on 2/3 of the bottom lash line. I did not use number 3 but I could have used it to line my upper lash line. I have been wearing this quad basically every single day since I posted about my modified project ten pan. Today, I did not use a primer, but the colors are must more vibrant with a primer.

So my view of this palette is ok. Number 2 is a pinky champagne beige with a shimmery finish, the color payoff is nice and this is a pretty highlight for the inner corner. Number 1 is a shimmery yellow green gold, this is the sheerest color but it is beautiful when the color really shows up. Number 4 is a shimmery darker olive green with a golden sheen, it is the most pigmented of the bunch. Number 3 is a matte reddish orange brown, it isn't chalky, but I don't love the shade (if it were less reddish orange, I would like it much more).

The colors work well together, and they stay pretty well all day without creasing even without a primer. I can use a single shader brush to apply all my colors which lessens the time it takes to apply the shadows, which is definitely a plus. I've also gotten a couple compliments because the greens really bring out the brown in my eyes.

Out of 10, I would give this palette a 7. I docked points because I don't like the brown much and number 1 is sheer.

Thank you for reading. Byebye. :D
