Double Feature!! VaLOG and BLOGHAUL....

So the video's basically everything that I explained in the previous quick update, so you guys really don't have to watch it. UNLESS, you want to see my face, which you haven't for a while. I also talk a tiny bit about other stuff...
Also, omfg. MOST CONSTIPATED THUMB NAIL FOR THE VIDEO EVAR.

So other than this VaLOG (am I creative or what?) I have a BLOG HAUL, not a VIDEO HAUL, but a BLOG haul...I'm really creative. Here's what I got during the Sephora VIB Sale, and I kinda explain why I got them.

From left to right and clock-wise: Kate Somerville .5 floz Intensive ExfoliKate, Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads, NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Fiji, Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat in 8, Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Medium Ivory

1. Kate Somerville .5 floz Intensive ExfoliKate: So l was looking at this on the site, and I realized that the .5 floz is actually a better deal compared to the 2 floz. Cause if I had 4 of the .5(which would make 2 floz), it would be $76. But the regular 2 floz goes for $85. So I don't know the reason behind this, but yeah. Either ways, only the .5 floz was available when I ordered... The 5 floz is still a good deal though. (: Aside from that, the reason why I bought the product itself is because it's suppose to help with discoloration (my big problemo) and plus everyone says this is amazing so I assume that is the truth. (:
2.  Peter Thomas Roth Max Complexion Correction Pads: I say in the video above that my skin has just be in horrific conditions, breakouts and clogged pores and all. Once again, this is a well liked product although it is very harsh. It's supposed to clear acne+blackheads, minimize pores, and cleanse skin. Since it also "regulates healthy cell turnover" maybe it'll also help with discoloration. We'll see; I'll get back to you guys on it.
3. NARS Sheer Glow Foundation in Fiji: I've had a couple of samples of this foundations, and so far it's proven to be one of my favorites. I've always gotten Deauville, but for the last sample I got, I chose Fiji. It's more yellow and I think it matches my neck much more. Anywho, I was like what the hey. Beautiful foundation. I definitely recommend it. (I really hope that it is this breaking my skin out... It shouldn't be since I've tried this before.)
4. Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat in 8: I had a sample of this a while back and it was really nice. Either ways I've been on a YSL kick. Plus, look at me in the video! I need all the under eye brightening I can get...
5. Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation in Medium Ivory: Along with the increased amount of acne came the increased need to cover that acne. I tried this foundation, and it has amazing coverage while staying away from being heavy and cakey. Very nice. It's also been raved about recently.
I'm so on trend! But as you can see all this products are either skin care of base face makeup. I just realize that I haven't purchased that kind of stuff in a very long time. So I decided to not buy another blush, eyeshadow, or mascara. Makeup and beauty always begins with nice skin and a perfect base, so that's what I invested in this time.

Lastly, I would like to thank any of you for continually understanding my constant absence. In particular, Amy from http://prettypinklipss.blogspot.com/. She's constantly wishing me luck and she always check up with my blog. Thank you, Amy! I'm really trying to keep up. (Also the results of my first trimester of Junior year are probably good, I'll report back to you all!)

If the video stuff doesn't work out to my liking, I'll boost my blog stuff. (:

Quick Update: FRUSTRATION WITH WMM.

I hate it. Windows Movie Maker is actually killing me. I've had a tutorial filmed for more than two weeks, and I've completely edited it in WMM 4 times by today. But every time I save the movie, WMM says there's something wrong with it. WELL NO THERE ISNT... Ok I'm really mad right now. But that's how I've been trying to blog/youtube but failing. Life sucks. WMM sucks.

Thanks for listening to be complain. Byebye. D:<

FOTD: Indian Summers

I'm really excited for this week because my camcorder is finally coming in, but at the same time, it's also midterms week so I question how I've done in school so far. I actually had another FOTD that I wanted to post earlier the week but only until I had uploaded the photos did I notice that everything was out of focus and I had really liked that look!! Well whatever.
In my city, it is basically summertime. I think it could get even warmer, but man I wish I was not in school, the weather is so nice! I also can really wear my cute fall outfits because it's too warm. Boohoo. I've typed to much, let's get into my FOTD.

     On my face I wore:
Lancome La Base Pro Primer
Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer in Bisque
Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in 2
Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Medium
Rock & Republic Pressed Powder in Chiffon

     On my eyes I used:
UDPP in Eden
LORAC Haute Couture Quad in Avant Garde
MAC Copperplate Eyeshadow
MUFE Aqua Eyes in 0L
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

     On my cheeks I wore:
Benefit Hoola Box Powder
Illamasqua Panic Blush

     On my lips I used:
MAC Viva Glam Cyndi Lipstick

MOAR CAM-HOAR SHOTZ. >3
They're basically the same picture. Lol.

Quick Update 10/08/2011

It's been a looong time. Almost a month? (Or more?) I don't know, but it's been a very long time since I blogged. I've just been busy with school and sports. But hey, it's paid off, I'm pretty sure I'm getting good grades...I hope.
I've been pretty happy, though there have been some down times, I'm just taking everything in stride. I'm happy to say that I hope I'll be back soon. It'll still be the occasional FOTD, swatch, haul, or tutorial, but I hope that makes someone happy.
On the note of tutorials, my parents actually bought me a Canon HF 40, something like that. It's a HD camcorder, that's actually HD, unlike the previous Toshiba which I returned. It also auto focuses. They just ordered it so it hasn't arrived. I think my next post/video will be my birthday haul.Oh yeah, the camcorder is for my sweet 16, October 9. (I'm only 16, and a junior in hs)

But yeah, nothing else to say. I'm going to go eat something and do homework. (:

Passion for Peach: NARS Sex Appeal Powder Blush Swatches and Review

I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye. Anywho, this series will provide swatches and reviews (or quick reviews) on peach colored (or with a hint of peach) products I adore.

It's been one week everyone! Long time no see, I spent today writing some essays and reading some books, just how I live my life now. But surprisingly, in the midst of my busy school life, I've committed myself to using my makeup, and I've done a full face of makeup everyday! (It's a full face, but not heavy.) So today, I'm going to write a blog pot as my break time. (: NARS Sex Appeal, anyone?

NARS Sex Appeal is described as a light soft matte peach. Swatched, I definitely think the color description fits, but on my light medium skin tone, the color shows much more peachy and dark than in the pan. Although this is the case, I definitely do not recommend this blush for people darker than me because Sex Appeal may turn out ashy.
My NARS blushes have no disappointed my at all (only thing is, Orgasm isn't like wtfthisisamazing to me). And Sex Appeal fulfills all the criteria I want to see in a good blush, especially when it is so expensive. The texture of this blush is smooth but not powdery, so I don't see excessive fallout from the pan.
I swear that this blush like... color adjusts. From the finger swatches, you can see one swatch is lighter and one is darker, and I swear it's because the blush reacts with the oils of your skin or something. This results in the blush looking darker on my skin than in the pan. Last thing... this blush lasts well on my skin.

FOTD: Too much homework, so I must camera-whore.

This week was my first week of school and I can already say that I won't have much time this year. Junior year means SATs, excessive amounts of homework, and also college pressure. I really wish I could forget all of my outside of school stresses because I feel like I could definitely handle all my school work at still get 8 hours of sleep. But since I can't just forget about my friends (oh, I have volleyball), I'll try harder... Haha. So please excuse me if you don't see a post from me for long periods of time. I'm spending my Labor Day weekend doing homework. All I have to do now is Political Economy and US History, which will take the rest of this day and maybe more. But yay, FOTD.

    On my face I used...
Korres Anti-Aging Quercetain & Oak Primer
Skindinavia No More Shine Makeup Setting Spray
Cover Girl NatureLuxe Foundation in 325 Sandstone
Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Medium
Make Up Forever HD Powder

     On my cheeks I used...
MAC Refined Golden Bronzer (OMG NOT BENEFIT HOOLA)
Illamasqua Tremble Powder Blusher

     On my eyes I used...
Urban Decay Original Primer Potion
Hourglass Gypsy Eyeshadow Duo
MAC Carbonized Eyeshadow
Rock & Republic Veil Eyeshadow
MAC Superslick Liquid Liner in Smoky Heir
Urban Decay 24/7 Zero Liner
Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara

On my lips I am wearing...
MAC Peachstock Lipstick (Love it)
Lancome Color Fever Gloss in Peach Paradise

And a little more camera-whoring...

Video: (Two in a ROW?) Muh Favs: August 2011

I have school starting tomorrow, and boy, I'm so unexcited. It's going to be my junior year, and it's suppose to be the hardest year of high school, what with SAT's and all. You know, nothing big... I wanted to post my August favorites before I got too busy, so here it is in video form. (: (I actually had this posted yesterday...)

1. Korress Quercetin & Oak Anti-aging Primer: It's silicone free, and really nice for moisturizing my dry areas. I also find that extends the wear of my foundations well.
2. Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Medium: You barely need any to cover all the blemishes and under eye bags you have on your face. It has really nice coverage with out getting cakey.
3. MAC Face and Body Foundation in N2: It's a good foundation for sports because it is pretty water resistant. However, it has a very light coverage that only serves the purpose of evening out my skintone, not good for those who want to cover a lot of stuff.
4. Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof Mascara: Really good for slightly more black and dramatic lashes. (Review and swatches found here: http://valeriestlbm.blogspot.com/2011/06/compare-maybelline-falsies-and-one-by.html)
5. Rock & Republic Eyeshadow in Sabotage: Gorgeous mid-tone taupey brown, which I find works well for a transitional color between my lid and outer v colors. (Swatch and review here: http://valeriestlbm.blogspot.com/2011/05/rock-eyeshadow-swatches-and-review-d.html)
6. Tarte Natural Lip Stain in Joy: It's a stain that leaves a slight sheen and does not require lip balm. The color is perfect for the summertime.
7. Sigma Duo Fibre Powder/ Blush Brush F15: I like it for powder because it can get into smaller areas. Because it is duo fibre, it picks up less powder resulting in a less cakey look.
8. Sigma Large Powder Brush F20: Good for a quick setting of powder, not so dense that it moves your foundation and concealer.
9. MAC 239: Perfect sized eye shader brush for my lids, and it's not scratchy, but still very dense.
10. And lastly, my favorite food of this month has been the...NECTARINE. I just love it especially when there is warm weather, because the fruit is so refreshing. DELICIOUS. (:

Don't Bite Your Nails: Zoya Cassi Swatch and Quick Review

It's been a while since I painted my nails. I took a break because the polishes were taking a toll on my nails, making them discolored and weak. After constant grooming for about two weeks, the yellow discoloration faded and my nails felt much better. So I finally decided to begin painting my nails again, just before I return to school!

Two coats of Zoya Cassi

Zoya Cassi is a pinky coral with golden micro-shimmers. It's a very summertime color that looks like a popsicle I would eat. It also looks like MAC Pink Lemonade Lipglass in nail polish form. The polish applied well and I did not experience any streaking. It is quite sheer on the first coat, but a second or third coat will eliminate the sheerness. I usually get 5 days of wear for Zoya polishes before I begin to see normal wear.

Just For Kicks: Summer in some pix and videos...Spewing some asian-ess and other bits n' bobs. (picture heavy update)

Recently, I finished SAT classes for the summer, and I've been going to volleyball practices and lazing around. I really miss my SAT friends, and it's strange to say but I had a really good time taking the class I took. Sadly, I can feel everything I learned dissipating from my mind into thin air. AND MAN AM I BORED. Other than volleyball, I can barely so anything since many people have already started school, I've also restrained from buying makeup because nothing has interested me recently and I'm waiting for the MAC Me Over collection. Haha. Well here's some stuff that been preoccupying me. (:

 I've spent this summer...
Trying to get MAC Creme Cup to work on me...

Going on group outings with SAT friends to eat...

Eating some more...

and eating some more (i would show you more pictures but they have the faces of people who I don't know would be happy with their face on my blog)...

AND OF COURSE CAMERAWHORING.

I've also eaten in a restaurant at 1AM for the fist time evarrrr with one of my best friends. It was very nice, not nice for my weight, but still nice.

This is already in my mixpod playlist, but man this is a powerful song. I've never been a fan of Demi Lovato, I didn't even know about the troubles she was having. But then I heard about her problems and watched the video and I was so frikin' moved. I was on the verge of tears, you need to watch the video not just listen to the song to understand the power of the song.

This song has been going mad on the radio, and it's pretty much stuck in my head.

I've been keeping up with 2NE1 TV. I really like YG Entertainment artists, too much swag.

I'm really happy about NigaHiga's return of Skitzo (being my favorite from his channel).

Basically my favorite comedian on Youtube, mychonny has made me subscribe to all his channels, this video is from his gaming channel, vulgar language in the vid... I think you need to watch all his videos to get his humor.

I just finished watching Sungkyunkwan Scandal, which a Korean drama focusing on the relationships and events of four students going to Sungkyunkwan School. It takes place like in 1780s, but it is so frikin' cute. I really enjoyed falling in love with the male actors. Haha. I don't think I can choose between them, but right now I'm definitely favoring Geol Oh, played by Yoo Ah In.

That's basically some little parts of my summer, I would show more, like my trip to Great America, but I'm not sure if my friends would be fine with me showing their faces, so please understand. I also did some volunteering here and there.

Thanks for reading! What did you do this summer? Byebye. :D

Passion for Peach: MAC Peaches Blush Swatches and Quick Review

I love peach, it brightens my complexion and gives me a girly glow, I feel so much more alive wearing it. I wear neutral eyes so much, like most girls, and I find that peach blushes and lipsticks look gorgeous paired with a brown eye. Anywho, this series will provide
swatches and reviews (or quick reviews) on peach colored (or with a hint of peach) products I adore.

Surprisingly, I did not purchase MAC Peaches Blush until recently, despite the fact that I love my peach cheek colors so much. I have another MAC blush and frankly, I was not impressed with that blush, resulting in me not wanting to buy more MAC blushes. Of course, it was just staring at me when I visited my MAC counter and I was like, what the hey.

Wearing MAC Peaches

MAC Peaches Blush is a true matte peach. On my skin, it shows a bit more orange. Being a Sheertone Blush, Peaches can be used ultra sheer or when built up, it can be very opaque.  This can be a good thing, but in my opinion, it's quite hard to build this blush up. To get the color you see on my cheeks above, I had to apply the blush 3 times. Another weird thing is, after a certain amount of applications, the blush all of a sudden becomes quite opaque to the point where it looks like you applied too much. I don't know why that happens.
The texture of the blush is unlike the texture of  matte NARS or Illamasqua blushes, which are quite soft, buttery, and smooth. Once again, this can be a good or bad thing. I believe that the hardness of the blush lends to the fact that although this blush is matte, it never looks cakey or powdery on my skin, whereas my other blushes can be seen on my skin. The downside is, like before, you must apply the blush quite a few times.
Overall, I think someone who is not so experience with makeup could use this well, since this is a buildable blush. I like the blush, but there are blushes I prefer over Peaches.

FOTD: Plums n' Peaches.

Technically this is a face of yesterday, but you know, it's all cool. Yesterday, I went shopping with my sister because she's off to school tomorrow, I had some time before leaving the house so that explains the excessive amount of products I used on my face. I understand I have been lacking in the amount of posts I post, for that I could apologize, but I figured you all know how busy a person can be.

     On my face I used...
Boscia Skin Perfecting Primer
Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer in Bisque
Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Medium
MUFE HD Powder

     On my cheeks, I had...
Benefit Hoola Box Powder
MAC Peaches Sheertone Blush
MAC Semi Precious Champagne

     On my eyes, I used...
Urban Decay Primer Potion
MAC Dazzlelight Eyeshadow
Stars Makeup Haven Eden Eyeshadow
MAC Espresso Eyeshadow
Rock & Republic Veil Eyeshadow
L'Oreal HIP Color Chrome Liner in Dark Romance
Sephora Smokey Cream Liner in Cafe
Lancome Definicils Precious Cells Mascara
Benefit badGal Plum Mascara

     On my lips, I have...
MAC Ravishing Lipstick
Dior 436 Apricot Cloche Lip Gloss

That's basically what was on my face yesterday, I spent the night at a friends house and I went to watch "Friends with Benefits" with my friend. It was decent, way too many sex scenes, and both my friend and I did not understand a lot of the jokes. The next day we spent the day at a street fair, eating, and shopping. I'm going to have a clothing haul (which is a first) soon. School is coming up soon for me...

fresh Sugar Lip Balm SPF 15
Korres Quercetain & Oack Anti-Aging Primer

2011 Drugstore Favorites and Recommendations (in a Video)

I got a request on this blog for me to do more reviews on drugstore items, so I figured I would start out with a overall look at my favorite drugstore items currently. I don't show you some categories, such as, blush, because I haven't tried anything from the drugstore in that category. However, the items I show you in this video are items I stand behind all the way.
I'm still having a bunch of troubles with camera quality and focus and stuff, so much so I actually like my webcam better in some situations. I'll try a couple more times with 1080p instead of 720p, the problem is that it takes way too long to upload. I'll also try sitting further back. Thank you for putting up with all the trouble.

NARS Gilda Powder Blush Swatches + Quick Review

Yayyy, I'm finally back with another post. (: Along with my love of peach, I have developed quite an affair with corals and orange because I find those colors interlace in many products. Today's post is on NARS Gilda Powder Blush. (:

NARS Gilda is a matte coral with a bit of orange. The powder is really smooth and pigmented. When used incorrectly, I would not be surprised if someone had a hard time blending this blush. Honestly, I think this looks best on tanned skin. Being a bit darker than I prefer, I feel that this blush looks amazing on my new skin tone compared to when I wore this during my more pale days. During my pale days, I thought this blush looked like a sunburn leaning to the negative sides when applying this a bit more sheer. If I wanted to wear this when I was pale, I had to wear it more bold so that it was apparent that my blush was a blush and not a sunburn. I get nice lasting power from this blush, about 7-9 hours, before the blush slowly fades off.

OMG Valerie not wearing mascara or lip color?? The world is ending! Face swatch!
