Don't Bite Your Nails: Revlon Raven Red Swatch

I actually painted my nails this past Sunday, but school of course, took over my life again and I totally forgot I had taken pictures. These pictures are taken one day after being painted. The color is Revlon's Raven Red, which is a gorgeous dark burgundy red. The only problem, for me, of the mail polish is, that this is probably the only or one of the only nail polishes that form bubbles on me. Maybe it's because it takes too long to dry and I don't have that sort of patience. Also, this nail polish chipped on me by the 5th day, so it's relatively good, but I like to keep my nails for 7... Any who, here are pictures!

Obviously you can see in the little dents, result from not waiting long before going off to play with my dogs... But I really like this red, it's a more "sultry" classic red. However, regardless of what company, be careful when you wear a red because the color tends to stain nails. I leave you with a rainbow, look carefully and you'll see it. I woke up and freaked out...haha...

DO YOU SEE IT?

Buxom Big, Healthy Lipsticks: Berlin, Bombay, Amsterdam Swatches and Quick Review

Hellohello. A long, long time ago. Not that long ago, when I started this blog, this first thing I did was posted a haul. In that haul, I had purchased three of the Buxom Big, Healthy Lipsticks in Berlin, Bombay, and Amsterdam. I've finally decided to swatch them and give a quick review.

From top to bottom:
Berlin
Bombay
Amsterdam

Bare Lips

Berlin (warm darker nude with a browny orange undertone)

Bombay (brighter warm rosy pink)

Amsterdam (my lips but better, nude rosy pink)

Buxom Big, Healthy Lipsticks are comfortable lipsticks that wear 3-4 hours. The have a matte finish that does not dry out my lips. However, they do show the fine line of my lips. For the first hour of wear, without eating, you will feel a cool minty sensation. These lipsticks are easy to apply and are nicely pigmented. The shades I got are a bit more natural and wearable. I like them overall, and I might invest in more of them!

Essie Matte About You Finishing Coat Review

As you saw in my last week nail post, I decided to try out the Essie Matte About You Finishing Coat. What the product does is mattify any polish you have whether it's a cream, metallic, or anything in between finish. I tried it on last week with Essie's My Place or Your Place polish with is a bright coral pink with a cream finish. I have left my nails for about a whole week, from last Sunday to today.

I'll start with the application. Essie's Matte About You applies well, but you must be careful to work quickly because this dries soooo fast. If you apply more while the first coat is only half dry, I'm sure you will get streaks. To remedy this, use a larger amount on the first layer so that you won't even need the second layer. The formula is a bit watery, but I'm fine with it.

Next, "strength". This finisher seems to dry in the first 10 minutes, but I really recommend you be super careful for the rest of the day. I did dishes...haha...and obviously got a dent. You also want to be careful not to touch the polish too much or that will create dents as well. OVer the week I noticed regular wearing away at the tips of my nails, but it really held out pretty well compare to other matte polishes that may only last a day.

Lastly, lasting effects. This polish as you will see in pictures below with give you a very nice smooth matte finish. But by the 5-6th days, I noticed that my polish became more glossy and reflected light more than before. So please be aware that Matte About You will not last as well as a regular top coat.

Overall, I like this quite a bit. I got this for 10.00$$ and I'm slightly sad that the polish became more glossy, but I got so many compliments on the first couple of days and I really don't mind in the end. I mean look at the before picture!!

BEFORE

AFTER

So thank you for reading my review on the Essie Matte About You Finishing Coat!

Thank you, byebye. :U

FOTD: I look like I ride horses.

I realized that my camera makes all the eye shadows I wear seem bronze and brown... BUT THEY ARE NOT. ): Well whatever. Today, was finally a Friday and I always feel obligated to dress or look better on Fridays. But I was like nawww. Take note, that I took these pictures after a whole day of school...the makeup was applied at 7:30AM and I took these pictures probably at 4:30PM. Even I'm amazed that everything still looks in tact.

I'm sorry for this but I've been so ashamed of my skin recently, so I took out like 4 things on my face. Like it you look closely, you can see where there are bits of patchiness areas and that's probably where I had a blemish. I've also had really dry skin/flakiness lately but I didn't do any edit on that because it really didn't show up on camera. Anyways, I had a cyctic pimple between my brows, a pimple above my brow, and some discoloration. They don't look bad in reality, but on camera they look 10x as red so they stand out soo much. Enough complaining, and here are the pictures. (:

So on my face I'm wearing,
Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer in Medium, under eyes and on blemishes.
Maybelline Mineral Power Concealer in Light(I realized that this is a bit too light for my skin tone. I liked it so much a couple weeks ago) on cheeks for a brighter, dewy look.
Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Light Cream 4-5 to set concealer.

On my cheeks I'm wearing,
Rock&Republic Contrived Blush in Shameless to contour.
NARS Blush in Luster on cheekbones.
Kirkland Mineral Eyeshadow in Petal (sheer pink with a sheen) to highlight apple of cheeks and cheekbones.

On my eyes I used,
MAC Dazzle Light e/s as inner corner highlight.
MAC Naked Lunch e/s all over lid.
MAC Satin Taupe e/s in the outer v and crease.
MAC Carbon e/s to tightline and smudge over lower lash line.
Benefit Eye Bright under the eyes and under brows.
Maybelline Define-a-Line in Brown to tight line.
MAC Eye Kohl in I Get No Kick on waterline.
Benefit badGal Plum mascara on upper and lower lashes (didn't hole my curl...)

On my lips I used,
Chapstick SPF4 (woohoo)
Maybelline Color Sensational Lipstick in Are You Red-dy tapped on the very inner parts of the lips.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss in Nude Lustre
NYX Jumbo Lip Pencil in Pink Nude on cupids bow and center of bottom lip.

I'm thinking that I should start to sheer out my brows cause they are way to harsh. Don't I look like a villian? I'm gunna go to the drugstore tomorrow to pick up some Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks and Lustrous Lipglosses, oh and maybe some of those lipstains. (: I'm also stuck on picking up the Maybelline Colossal, Falsies, Define-a-Lash Length, Covergirl Lash Blast Length.

And I leave you with a picture of my baby. (: She doesn't really like cameras. Oh and question, what should I do if my dog has been getting into violent fights with the other dog at home? I'm really worried because my dog is the larger of the two and she has hurt people when we try to separate the two.

TIME TO GET FAT: Chinese Gluttonous Rice Dumplings.

Today's Sunday, so I spent the whole day grieving while doing homework... I still haven't finished, woohoo! I just finished dinner, and made myself a small dessert. (:

For those who are unfamiliar with this dessert, it is a sweet red bean filled gluttonous rice dumpling. It's traditionally served on Chinese New Years to symbolize the meaning of togetherness. And omg, nomnomnomnom, I have been so obsessed lately. They're really yummy and chewy. I'm sure you can find them at a local Asian market. I favor the red bean flavor but there definitely are other flavors!

So go find your self some dumplings and feel a little bit Asian, after all we are so dang cool.

Don't Bite Your Nails: Essie My Place Or Your's Mattified 8D

I was suppose to keep doing nail of the weeks, but the weather has been so bad resulting in the lighting being really bad. Today's the first time in a while that it wasn't raining cats and dogs. Plus, I'm getting in the spring/summer mood so this nail polish is more bright and fun. I also wanted to finally try out the Essie Matte About You Finishing Coat that I hauled a week or so ago. The nail polish I'm wearing is, as in the title, Essie's My Place Or Your's.

Essie's My Place Or Your's is a bright coral pink. In real life it is on the line of hot pink, and I think it should be a great summer color. These swatches are two coats with the Essie Matte About You Finishing Coat which transforms any nail polish to a matte nail polish.

I hope you liked the swatches! I'll be seeing how long the Matte About You Finishing Coat lasts for and I will update on that! My nails feel so smoooothh.

Mistake Makeup For Rainy Days

Hahaha, so this past week has been horrible humid and rainy. And it's weird because it's raining hard but it's not cold at all. I obvious did not think about the weather when I went to school today and decided to wear some non-waterproof mascara to give my lashes a bit of a break. Tip: Don't do what I do. Here are just some pictures, if you really want to see my fail...

So this is how I ended up. I mean if wasn't bad other than the fact that I got myself a pair of panda eyes and my concealer totally went away. YAY flaws.

Hehheh, this post was just for fun. Thanks for looking, byebye. C:

Fix Haul + Others

So my last post was about how I had hauled some NARS items from Sephora, to only find out that two of the items had be opened and used. Of course, the next day I had to return to Sephora to get the problem fixed. The Sephora I visited was pretty rude to me when I returned the stuff, sadsad. Basically, the worker looked at me as if I were the hugest problem ever, I really don't like her. Anyways, I returned three items, 2 NARS eyeshadow duo's in Kalahari and Cordura, and the Benefit Boi-ing Concealer (not part of the before haul, I was sincerely disappointed in the product). I re-bought the two eyeshadow duos and added more to my purchases that day.

I got...
NARS Cordura and Kalahari Eyeshadow Duos ($33 each)
MAC Sable Eyeshadow ($14.50)
MAC Viva Glam Gaga 2 ($14.50)
MAC Smoky Heir Superslick Liquid Liner ($17.50)
Essie Matte About You Matte Topcoat ($10)
H&M Black and Gold Bobby Pins ($2.95 each)
NOT INCLUDED IN PICTURES, Urban Decay 24/7 Liner in Zero ($17)

I will provide swatches and/or reviews later. (:

Got this because I am searching for the perfect nude lipstick.

Now I can transform any nail into a matte nail!

So that's my haul. Of course I couldn't stick with just returning and exchanging so I got more. Haha. Don't forget, more review and swatch posts will come.

Sephora ft. NARS Haul + Disappointment

Today I went out and bought myself a new SD card which explains the makeup post, and also some NARS stuff I've have been dying for. LET ME FIRST SAY, when I came home and wanted to swatch some stuff. I found out they had been used!!!!!. NONONO, I'm going to exchange tomorrow. (:

I got a Boscia sampley thing for 500 points.
NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Cordura and Kalahari (FRIDGIN ALREADY OPENED PRODUCTS. GOING BACK TO EXCAHNGED TOMORROW!) No swatches because they are messed up. ):
NARS Lipglosses in Striptease and Turkish Delight.

NARS Lipglosses in Turkish Delight and Striptease

Swatches of NARS Lipglosses in Turkish Delight and Striptease. I kind of smeared Striptease so it looks sheerer than it really is.

Thanks for reading and I will update tomorrow on the eyeshadows. Would you guys like reviews?
